• Single Crochet (SC)

• Single Crochet Decrease (SCD)

• Slip Stitch (SLST)

This pattern is written in US crochet terms.

Round 1: In a MR make 6 SC. Pull Ring closed, but do not join round. (6SC)

We are working in continuous rounds. Use a stitch marker if necessary, or a scrap piece of yarn to mark the first stitch of each round.

Round 2: Make 2SC in each stitch around (12SC)

Round 3: *1 SC in the first stitch, 2SC in the next Stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (18SC)

Round 4: *1SC in the first stitch, 1 SC in the next stitch, 2SC in the next Stitch.* Repeat *-*

around. (24SC)

Round 5: *1SC in the first stitch and the next two stitches, 2SC in the next stitch.* R3peat *-* around. (30SC)

Round 6: *1SC in the first stitch and the next 3 stitches, 2SC in the next stitch.* Repeat *-* around. (36SC)

If you want a larger pumpkin continue making increasing rounds here for as many round as you need to get your pumpkin width. Please note you may need to add more SC rows below to accommodate for the extra width and to make everything look proportionally correct.

Round 7 – 12: SC in each stitch around. (36SC)

Round 13: *SC in the first stitch and next three stitches, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat *-* around. (30SC)

Round 14: *SC in the first stitch and next two stitches, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (24SC)

Round 15: *SC in the first stitch and the next stitch, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (18SC)

Round 16: *SC in first stitch, SCD over the next two stitches.* Repeat from *-* around. (12SC)

Fill with stuffing

Round 17: SCD around (6SC). SLST to first stitch and finish off leaving approx. 18inch tail for sewing.

Closing Up: To close up the pumpkin weave your tail through each of the 6 SC stitches left and pull hole close. Weave the end through the middle of the pumpkin to the bottom side and then put the needle through the top of the pumpkin back to bottom. Do this 6 times creating segments in the pumpkin. Make sure to pull tight each time. Once you are happy with your segments Weave any remaining end in.

Stalk

Row 1: With brown yarn, CH 7. Turn and SC in the 2nd CH from the hook. SC across. (6SC) CH1

Row 2-8: SC in each SC across. (6SC)

At the end of row 8, finish off and leave a long tail for sewing. Roll the piece up and sew up the side to keep the roll in place. It should look a little like a cinnamon stick. Stitch this on to the top of your pumpkin and enjoy.
